About the Client
Founded on lived experience, Voice for Victims Foundation has been established to provide practical, trauma-informed support and recovery pathways for victims of violent crime across Queensland.
For many people, the aftermath of crime can feel overwhelming. Navigating services, understanding available support and knowing where to turn can add further stress to an already difficult situation.
The foundation exists to ensure victims do not have to navigate recovery alone. Through guidance, practical support and trusted resources, they focus on improving wellbeing, dignity and long-term outcomes for those impacted by violent crime.
Goals
-
Create a central support hub: Develop a digital platform where victims and their families can easily access guidance, resources and pathways to support.
-
Provide clear user journeys: Structure the website so visitors can quickly find the help or information they need without confusion or unnecessary complexity.
-
Enable community involvement: Create clear pathways for people to donate, volunteer, fundraise or partner with the foundation.
-
Build a platform for long term growth: Design a scalable website that supports the foundation’s advocacy, awareness campaigns and community initiatives.
Challenges
-
Designing for vulnerable users: The website needed to support people who may be distressed or overwhelmed, requiring a clear and supportive user experience.
-
Communicating sensitive topics: Content and design needed to present difficult subject matter with care while maintaining clarity and accessibility.
-
Balancing multiple audiences: The platform had to serve victims seeking help as well as supporters looking to contribute to the foundation’s mission.
-
Launching a new organisation online: With no existing website, the project required establishing the entire structure, messaging and user journey from the ground up.
Solution
Working closely with the Voice for Victims team, we designed a purpose built website focused on clarity, accessibility and support.
Key elements of the solution included:
- Designing a clear website structure that guides victims directly to support information and resources
- Creating dedicated pathways for donations, volunteering, fundraising and partnerships
- Integrating donation functionality with multiple ways for supporters to contribute
- Developing simple support request forms designed to reduce confusion during stressful situations
- Implementing safety focused features such as a quick exit option for users who need to leave the site quickly
- Designing a modern, accessible interface aligned with the foundation’s identity and mission
Results
The new website provides Voice for Victims with a central digital platform that connects victims, families and supporters with the information and resources they need. Visitors can quickly navigate to support services, explore self help resources, or find ways to contribute to the foundation’s work.
Beyond providing access to support, the platform also strengthens the organisation’s ability to engage with the community. With clear pathways for donations, volunteering and partnerships, the website now plays an important role in helping the foundation grow its impact across Queensland.
Final Thoughts
Projects like this remind us that websites can play a meaningful role beyond simply sharing information. Through working closely with the Voice for Victims team, we were able to create a digital platform that prioritises clarity, accessibility and care. We are proud to have helped bring their mission online and look forward to seeing the continued impact the foundation will have in supporting victims and strengthening communities.
